This annual festival celebrates Danish Constitution Day hosted by the Danish Home on their beautiful picnic grounds in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. The day begins at 11 am with a Danish church service with Pastor Julie Sløk of the Danish Seamen's Church in Brooklyn. Vendors open at noon. (Take note that this event has been scheduled for Saturday, not Sunday.)

Food vendors will sell delicious and homemade Danish foods including traditional Danish smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches), frikadellar (meatballs), and wienerbrød (Danish pastry), as well as grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, strawberries & cream, Carlsberg beer, and non-alcoholic refreshment. Also for sale will be handmade crafts, assorted Danish Home souvenirs, clothing, homemade leverpostej, and much more.

Other special attractions are live musical entertainment by the Swedish Meatballs, field games for children, Tombola (prizes of all sizes), the Art Barn, and the annual RAFFLE. Check out some of the many great prizes by clicking here.

Speeches
Flemming Heilmann, retired from 28 years in corporate management and among other recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of and 1st Rank of Knight of the Order of Dannebrog, will be giving a speech on "Shared Danish and American Values."

Also, DACC Board Member and US Attorney Peter Hessellund-Jensen will be giving a short talk on a very important subject of interest to almost everyone in the Danish-American community in the Tri-State area: the prospects and implications of the dual Danish/US citizenship legislation expected to be considered in the Danish parliament this fall.
