AB Gladsaxe is a historical football club
Akademisk Boldklub Gladsaxe (AB), founded in 1889, is one of Denmark's oldest football clubs. Originally established by a group of academics, the club initially required members to be university students. Notably, physicist Niels Bohr, a Nobel laureate, played as a goalkeeper for AB.
Throughout its history, AB has secured nine Danish championships, with titles spanning from 1919 to 1967. The club also clinched the Danish Cup in 1999.
In 1965, AB relocated from Copenhagen to Gladsaxe, where it continues to play its home matches at Gladsaxe Stadium. In November 2022, the club was acquired by Five Castles Football Group.
Despite facing challenges in recent decades, AB remains a significant presence in Danish football, currently competing in the Danish 2nd Division.
Be there to support your team and experience the action live at Mugs in Brooklyn.
