Torsten Slok is the Chief Economist at Apollo Global Management, where he has been a key member since August 2020. With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years on the sell-side, his team consistently achieved top rankings by Institutional Investor in both fixed income and equities, including a remarkable #1 position in 2019.
Torsten's career is characterized by extensive experience, having worked at prestigious organizations such as the OECD in Paris, focusing on Money and Finance as well as Structural Policy Analysis. Additionally, he spent four years at the IMF, contributing significantly to the World Economic Outlook and overseeing responsibilities for China, Hong Kong, and Mongolia.
Torsten Slok's academic background includes studies at the University of Copenhagen and Princeton University.
He is a prominent figure in the media, regularly sharing his insights on platforms like CNBC, Bloomberg, WSJ, NYT, and FT. Furthermore, he has authored numerous journal articles and reviews on economics and policy analysis, showcasing his expertise in publications like the Journal of International Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, and The Econometric Journal.
